Matt Merritt
Matt Merritt is a highly accomplished executive with a career spanning over 30 years, during which he has demonstrated exceptional leadership in finance, accounting, operations and technology. Matt possesses extensive experience in Oracle, SAP, and Microsoft Dynamics ERP implementations as well as development of custom software solutions. Currently serving as the CEO of Snap.Build, a pioneering fintech company in the residential housing construction industry, Matt is responsible for overseeing the company’s financial operations, technological advancements, and strategic direction.
Matt began his journey by earning a bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting from Texas A&M University and then joined Arthur Andersen’s Houston office, where he specialized in oil and gas practices, derivative financial instruments, and managing sizable accounts.
Matt’s track record resulted in him being recruited to open the Fort Worth, Texas office for Jefferson Wells International, a Business Risk Consulting and Assurance firm. In his Senior Business Development role, he achieved outstanding results and secured major clients such as Tandy (RadioShack) and Pier 1 Imports. He then joined Billing Concepts, a telecom company, where he led a large-scale ERP implementation project utilizing Oracle, further fueling his passion for technology.
Matt’s combination of technology experience and leadership skills led him to Greenleaf Nursery, where he developed a core technology approach and led a team of developers in creating a custom-built ERP system from scratch that served the company for over two decades. Additionally, he served as the VP of Finance, Accounting, and IT at Microtune, an international silicon chip manufacturing company, where he successfully turned around a failed Oracle implementation. Matt then transitioned to Beal Service Corporation, the holding company of Beal Bank and Beal Nevada Bank. As SVP, Chief Operating Officer he was responsible for driving operational efficiency as well as core processing software implementation and deployment.
In 2005, Matt founded M.C.G. International, a consulting firm specializing in streamlining operations across finance, accounting, and technology implementation. The firm has served various sectors, including eCommerce, financial technology, retail point of sale, manufacturing, and wholesale distribution. M.C.G. held an integral role in the launch of Spansion, a flash memory company spun out from Advanced Micro Devices and Fujitsu.
Before joining Snap.Build, Matt held the positions of Managing Partner and CFO at The Lynd Group Holdings Company, a national full-service real estate operating enterprise focused on multifamily housing. In this role, he oversaw all aspects of financing, investing and accounting.
Matt’s exceptional achievements have earned him recognition, including the prestigious San Antonio Business Journal C-Suite Award in 2021. He has also made significant contributions as a board member of organizations such as Patriot Services Group, Alamo Area Youth Horse Association, and the Vietnam Army Grunt Museum. Beyond his professional endeavors, Matt enjoys outdoor activities and quality time with his wife and three children in Kerrville, Texas.
