David Akre

David brings more than 30 years of experience in residential loan portfolio management. His background includes the purchase and sale of over $20 billion in residential loans, as well as founding and taking public the first “active” mortgage REIT in 2004, which he successfully guided through the Global Financial Crisis.

He has extensive experience managing leverage facilities with major investment banks, securitizing loan portfolios, and executing credit strategies with a strong focus on macroeconomic timing. David has also led capital and debt raises for both public and private lending institutions.

More recently, he has become a recognized data source within specialized mortgage lending niches and is a frequent speaker at industry conferences.
