Chief Executive Officer, Snap.Build & emerie.ai

Matt Merritt

Matt Merritt is a dynamic and accomplished executive with more than 30 years of leadership experience across finance, accounting, operations, and technology. He currently serves as CEO of both Snap.Build and emerie.ai—two innovative platforms transforming residential construction finance and AI-powered financial services, respectively.

At Snap.Build, a leading fintech company focused on streamlining construction lending, Matt has played a pivotal role in bridging the gap between builders and lenders through operational efficiency and transformative technology. Under his leadership, the company has expanded its market reach, enhanced customer experiences, and optimized its financing solutions.

In his expanded role as CEO of emerie.ai, Matt leads the development and commercialization of cutting-edge agentic AI solutions designed for financial institutions. The platform enables smarter, faster decision-making and greater transparency through workflow automation and advanced data insights.

Matt began his career after earning a B.A. in Finance and Accounting from Texas A&M University. He launched into the professional world at Arthur Andersen’s Houston office, specializing in oil and gas, derivatives, and large-account management. He was later recruited to open the Fort Worth office of Jefferson Wells International, where he won major accounts such as Tandy (RadioShack) and Pier 1 Imports.

His passion for tech-enabled solutions deepened at Billing Concepts, where he led an enterprise-wide Oracle ERP implementation. This led to a move to Greenleaf Nursery, where he built a custom ERP system that served the company for over 20 years. Matt also served as VP of Finance, Accounting, and IT at Microtune, where he successfully turned around a failed Oracle rollout. At Beal Service Corporation, he held the role of SVP, COO, driving operational improvements and overseeing core processing system deployments for Beal Bank and Beal Nevada Bank.

In 2005, Matt founded M.C.G. International, a consulting firm focused on optimizing operations at the intersection of finance, technology, and accounting. The firm was instrumental in launching Spansion, a flash memory company spun off from AMD and Fujitsu. He successfully exited the firm in 2017.

Before his current CEO roles, Matt was Managing Partner and CFO at The Lynd Group Holdings Company, overseeing all financial operations, investments, and accounting for its national multifamily housing portfolio.

Matt is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Scrum Master (CSM). In recognition of his achievements, he received the San Antonio Business Journal C-Suite Award in 2021. He has served on the boards of Patriot Services Group, the Alamo Area Youth Horse Association, and the Vietnam Army Grunt Museum. He currently resides in Kerrville, Texas, where he enjoys the outdoors and spending time with his wife and three children.
